Ann Smith spends her days making little robotic like figurines from broken electronics and machine parts. The sculptures are sold in stores and galleries throughout the US and have been published as illustrations in magazines and brochures, including the Communications Arts Illustration Annual and the American Illustration 25 Annual. Her clients consist of Chevron lubricants division, Cricket Magazine, and Cicada Magazine. Recently, She has received international recognition from DPI Magazine in Taiwan, as well as a grant from the Montreal based Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation for her continued work in the fine arts. Ann has also worked with the Science centre in Montreal, as well as the Providence Children's museum to bring her creations to the curious minded.  She also participates in group shows and art sales in Providence and Boston. Ann, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, still lives and works in Providence RI.
